☼ < code > - Resplendent Grotesque / Nouveau Gloaming

Veteran members of the AGBM universe (Dødheimsgard / Ved Buens Ende / Ulver / Manes / Naer Mataron -- just to name a few) come together as < code > to create high-altitude black space metal devoid of superficial trappings. In a permanent state of flux and creation, each < code > release builds on atmosphere and dynamics, striving to bring a new and unique perspective to the genre. < code > has integrity and a focus on music that separates them from the more media-savvy bands of the moment. As one might deduce by the list of associated bands, < code > should appeal to fans of Trickster Garm (Arcturus / Ulver / Borknagar)... or, if you put the 1998-2003 output by Troll (Norwegian band w/Sinister Minister Twice & Mr. Hellhammer) into Syd Barrett's blender, adding a smidgen of Katatonia just for garnish, you might get an idea of where < code > is coming from. ;)
An unsettling and creepy cult of otherworldly lyricism and pure hypnotic aggression.

As "Nouvelle Vague" spearheaded the new wave of French filmmaking, "Nouveau Gloaming" is a new movement in black metal. Roughly translated as 'New Twilight,' it is the name given to a new wave of old-school darkness. It is the marriage of early '90s cold black metal and the avant-garde, the surreal, ...and cold hard grimness.
